Aeromexico Union wants bankruptcy court to hear election lawsuit

By Rick Archer (August 2, 2022, 3:13 p.m. EDT) – A union of Mexican airline Aeromexico workers is asking a New York bankruptcy court to rule on allegations that it lied to an investment firm in terms of voting rights the company would get by buying out the union’s Chapter 11 claims against Aeromexico.

In a motion filed Friday in federal district court, the union sought to dismiss a debt purchase suit filed by buyer Invictus Global Management in New York state court in June in United States Court. bankruptcy, arguing that a ruling by a bankruptcy court judge is necessary because the claims relate to Aeromexico’s restructuring plan.
